In Pokemon Colosseum, what do you do after the boy barges into the sheriff's office in Pyrite Town?

You go talk to Duking, then you go to the control place for the pyrite colosseum and they should tell you to look for the gear Sylvia stole. (And it's at the construction site) If he didn't steal it yet, go around and talk to someone in the colosseum.
