Do i need to complete module l, ll and lll before sheriff academy?

Ino you have to be 21 to begin the sheriff academy but i found some stuff about P.O.S.T. Regular basic course module l,ll,lll an it requires you to be 18 yrs old. Do i need these certificates before i can join the sheriff academy?
