How quickly does the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office issue a handgun purchase permit in Charlotte, NC?

I applied for a Pistol Purchasing Permit about a month ago and haven't heard anything. Anyone from Mecklenburg County in NC know how long it takes to complete the background check and issue the permit? Thanks!
